Exescodo Products Ltd was appointed by Robin Cripps Restoration to supply a precast concrete pedestrian bridge deck link across a formed lightwell to a Mayfair apartment undergoing significant refurbishment.

Exescodo Products needed to coordinate the detailing, engineering, natural stone scheduling and deck manufacture in order to provide the finished bridge link complete and fulfilling the main criteria of presenting a natural Portland stone soffit to match the ashlar walling of the lightwell.

Exescodo Design Ltd produced the working drawings for the bridge deck link and also scheduled the natural Portland stone soffit slab elements for the mason to cut the stone.

The soffit slabs were then positioned in the mould and cast onto the reinforced concrete bridge deck at the precasters works.

The bridge deck also incorporated two conduits for CCTV cabling to the underside, formed circular rebates in the stone for the camera positions, fixing sockets for the bridge link handrail to the top and lifting sockets for the safe demoulding of the unit from the casting mould and positioning on site when being installed.
